There is no place like home and many people prefer to live in the comfort of their own home. St. Basil’s offers support services that can help ageing Australians live at home longer. We work with our consumers to design and deliver services that support independence, well-being and lifestyle.

About the role

As a Home and Community Care Support Worker, your responsibility is to help enable our consumers to live their best possible life, supporting them to live independently at home by helping them with everyday activities tailored to meet their assessed care needs and goals, and doing this with a person-centred approach.

Supports include personal care, domestic assistance, transport and accessing the community, meal preparation, social support in the home and in the community, observing, monitoring and documenting consumer progress and changes.

What the essential requirements for the role are:

  • Certificate III or IV in Ageing Support (full training provided if not currently qualified).
  • Current First Aid Certificate (full training provided if not currently qualified).
  • Current driver’s licence. It is important that you have current driver's licence as you need to travel to consumer's homes for this position.
  • A fully insured and reliable vehicle. It is important that you have a fully insured car as this role requires you to travel to consumer's homes.
  • Available to work 3 or more weekdays

Employment with St Basil’s Homes is subject to satisfactory background checks which include a National Police Check, Reference Check, and pre-employment medical check. 

Applicants will need to provide an Immunisation History Statement from the Australian Immunisation Register confirming that the applicant has received three doses of the COVID-19 Vaccination and Influenza Vaccination.
